Saanich launches series of Emergency Prep. talks

Emergency preparedness instructions for safety: make a plan, build a kit and stay informed

The District of Saanich is launching two talks on Emergency Preparedness, on various dates:

1. Energy safety and provide tips on how to prepare for an earthquake

Michelle Petrusevich, Public Safety Manager

A major emergency or disaster could disrupt utilities and emergency services for days or even weeks. In addition to your basic emergency planning and kits for your family, FortisBC representatives will discuss energy safety and provide tips on how to prepare for an earthquake. This is an interactive session.

2. Emergency Preparedness Begins with You

When disaster strikes, your chances of staying safe, healthy and comfortable are much better if you are prepared. This 90-minute presentation offers the information you need to prepare yourself and your family to survive on your own for up to 7 days after any type of disaster. Each household participating in the presentation will receive a free workbook to help with emergency planning.

Dates and venues:

Note: The Saanich Emergency Program will also come to you to present to a group of 10 people or more. For more information please contact the SEP office at 250.475.7140or SEP@saanich.ca.
