Re: Maynard Park Playground Replacement Construction Notification
Saanich Parks is pleased to inform you that replacement of the playground at Maynard Park will be underway shortly. Community consultation on the play equipment from spring 2024 helped inform the development of the new playground design. Work to replace the internally failing play equipment and upgrade the playground for accessibility will being mid to late February 2025. Enhancements to the playground include new play equipment and a concrete ramp onto the new accessible engineered wood fibre safety surfacing. Additional improvements include a nature play area with biodiversity and sensory gardens, a connecting gravel pathway to Kilgary Place, park furniture, bike racks and tree planting. Construction will involve some machinery and truck movement on Maynard Street and Kilgary Place. We expect any disruptions to be minor and we thank those affected neighbours for their patience and understanding as we work to improve the park for the benefit of local residents.
