Concerns over Saanich sidewalk plans for Village

As readers may remember, on August 22 we published a news item on Saanich’s proposed new sidewalks and other changes to the Village and South Penrhyn St.
In response, Cadboro Bay Business Improvement Association (CBBIA) has written to Saanich, asking that the bus stop be kept close to its current location between Sinclair Road and Penrhyn St, as it is a key bus stop location for access to nearby businesses.

The District of Saanich’s Transportation Division has now pointed out in reply that since the new bus shelter, funded as part of BC Transit’s program to improve their key bus stops, would require more space, it would reduce the garden area.  If the CBBIA can propose how to do this, “we can begin to move forward after this.”
Residents are invited to review the August 22nd proposal, and have a look at our Bulletin Board in the Village and let us know what you think.
