Following weeks of appeals by the Cadboro Bay Residents Association board of directors to all relevant authorities, last night’s Saanich Council meeting (January 25) voted unanimously to authorize staff
to take the necessary steps to remove and dispose of the Pacific Sun King and a
“yellow hulled” boat in Cadboro Bay.
Staff was also instructed to continue efforts to obtain financial
assistance from the Coast Guard and the Ministry of Forest, Land & Natural
Resources.
Representatives of
the Cadboro Bay Residents Association thanked Council members for taking action
as the vessels on the beach in Cadboro Bay are a significant eyesore and hazard
in one of the Municipality’s foremost outdoor recreational areas.
