UVic: parking rate changes as of Sept. 1

From Julie Potter, Associate Director, Community and Government Relations, Division of External Relations, University of Victoria:

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your summer. Please find a notice below from Patrick Seward, Manager, Parking and Transportation in regards to parking rate changes at UVic starting September 2019.If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact myself or Patrick (parkingmgr@uvic.caor 250-721-6685).

Parking Changes

Parking rates at the University of Victoria will change in September 2019.

Evening and Saturday maximum rates will go up from $3.00 to $3.50 (and to $4.00 in Sept. 2020).
The daily rate will increase to a maximum of $9.00 per day. Hourly parking will go from $1.50 to $2.00 per hour.
Beginning Sept. 1, reserved lot parking restrictions will be co-ordinated with the evening maximum rate so that General permits will be valid in reserved areas (except those marked 24-hour reserved) after 5 p.m. weekdays and all day on Saturday.
Pay parking is in effect on the Gordon Head Campus Monday through Saturday, 24 hours a day. There is no charge for parking on Sundays or on recognized British Columbia statutory holidays.
Parking fee increases offset the rising costs of operation and maintenance while helping to support UVic’s Travel Choices Program, including subsidized bus passes and cycling facilities.

For more information about parking on campus and purchasing term/annual permits, contact Parking Services at 250-721-6386, or visit www.uvic.ca/security/parking/index.php.
