Saanich survey on transition to electric vehicles and e-bikes

Deborah Herbert, Senior Sustainability Planner  at the District of Saanich, writes:

Hello Saanich Community Associations,

The District of Saanich is developing an Electric Mobility Strategy to support a rapid transition to electric vehicles and e-bikes in Saanich.

As a first step in developing the strategy, proposed actions in several focus areas have been identified. The proposed actions reflect best practices, the experiences of leading jurisdictions, and analysis of relevant data.

The proposed actions also reflect findings from public and stakeholder engagement in the past two years concerning electric vehicles and e-bikes in Saanich and the Greater Victoria region. Together, these engagement activities have provided valuable information concerning the support of Saanich residents for electric vehicles and e-bikes and for climate action more generally, as well as the barriers and challenges to making the transition to electric vehicles and e-bikes.

We invite you to provide feedback on the proposed actions and electric mobility more generally by responding to an online survey. The survey will be available until March 8, 2020.

You are also welcome to provide comments by email to me at Deborah.Herbert@saanich.ca.

Information about the Electric Mobility Strategy is online at https://www.saanich.ca/EN/main/community/sustainable-saanich/electric-mobility-strategy.html.

A flyer on Saanich’s Electric Mobility Strategy is also available.
