Just a note to let everyone know that our NaturalAreas crew will be working with a consultant in mid-September – October on improvements to Finnerty Creek. This initiative was identified in the Haro Woods Management Plan, 2018 that resulted from extensive consultation with the community. Project highlights include: the stream channel will be defined where it is currently flowing over the forest floor outside of its original course, erosion will be controlled, and riparian areas planted and habitat improved for wildlife.
Visitors will notice a big change for the better in the appearance of the creek soon. Many more details are available on the Parks website Saanich.ca/parks.
