Saanich seeks input on Tree Preservation Bylaw amendments

image

As described by Cory Manton (Urban Forestry, Horticulture and Natural Areas Manager) at Wednesday’s AGM,  the District of Saanich is in the process of amending the Tree Preservation Bylaw, in a bid to stem the current nett loss of 70 hectares a year in urban tree cover due to development, driveways, etc. To this end, it will hold an Information Session on May 28th, to which one or two representatives are invited from each of the local community associations such as the CBRA and other stakeholders.

Residents can have their input by reading the information provided at the Saanich webpage on the issue and writing to us with their concerns, so we can present them at the Information Session.
