At the Open House held on Saturday, Oct 19th, Charles Kierulf of de Hoog & Kierulf Architects, presented plans and computerized 3D rendering of the proposed new narthex.
The new addition will involve demolishing the existing entrance lobby and vestry and replacing it with a larger, singular addition with a roughly rectangular footprint, accommodating a larger vestry office; separate male and female washrooms; a coats area; a small service kitchen; an accessible ramp; new patio with raised, two-tier planters; wood cladding; an articulated roof; and a new pedestrian path up from Maynard Street.

“The rough timeline for the project is to get through approvals and pricing before Christmas, start construction early in the New Year, and aim for completion in the late summer 2014,” says Kierulf.
