The Campus Transit Plan refers to the need to improve and expand the bus exchange space on campus. Parking Lot #14 at the north side of the Student Union Building (SUB) has been selected as a site to accommodate 10 new bus bays. Planning work, in conjunction with BC Transit, is underway to assist in finalizing a design for the new year, with construction completion targeted for the fall of 2014.
An Open House meeting has been scheduled on November 7, 2013 3:00 – 6:00 pm in the Student Union Building, M. Pujol Room. Representatives from Campus Planning and the Facilities Management Department, along with BC Transit, will be in attendance, with display material and information on the project.
Engagement Approach:
The engagement approach for the project includes aspects of both the inform and consultation levels, given the location and scope of the work and the development variance application process for the parking spaces which are to be displaced. The Community Engagement Framework report provides for a consistent methodology to be used to determine the university’s overall approach to an engagement program for new capital projects.
