Inspired by the wonderful “Caddy Bay” Book Exchange located on the small piece of Tudor Road that connects directly with Telegraph Bay Road, we have put up a “Baynes Book Exchange” out in Ten Mile Point. This is part of the little free library movement (www.littlefreelibrary.org)—a free accessible book exchange that runs on the honour system. It is great for areas such as ours without transit as it lets neighbours share books. Basically they are all free for sharing – take one, return one is the motto. The new book exchange has been a big hit with users from 2 to 90 years old.

There are a handful of such book exchanges in Greater Victoria (Oak Bay, Esquimalt, Saanich) and the website actually contains a world map with hundreds of locations around the world. (We expect our location – the corner of Baynes and Smuggler’s Cove, to be posted in the next few weeks).
If anyone is interested in donating books, exchanging books or purely just interested in taking a peek during a weekend exploration – we invite them to stop by!
