Cam Preece, Manager of Core Area Operations of the CRD’s Infrastructure Engineering & Operations, advises:
Overflows at numerous CRD wastewater facilities overnight and early this morning. The overflows extend from Fleming Beach to McLoughlin Point in Esquimalt and from Finnerty Point near Queenswood in Saanich to Clover Point in Victoria.
In consultation with Island Health affected beaches will be posted and sampled until the enterococci levels are below the 70CFU/100mL recreational limit. I will advise when the beach postings are lifted.
