School District 61 survey on student enrolment priorities

From School District 61 (Victoria):

Have you completed the survey about student enrolment priorities yet?

Good morning,

Have you completed the survey about student enrolment priorities yet?

The Greater Victoria School District is conducting a survey about student enrolment priorities. More than 2,000 parents have completed the survey to date, but in an effort to reach as many parents and future parents as possible we kindly ask for you to please share our survey.

The premise of the survey is to help the district determine what is important to parents when it comes to registering children at school or applying to transfer to another school. Student enrolment priorities are necessary to ensure a transparent and fair process for student registration at all grade levels, including French Immersion and non-catchment students.

The survey comes as long-term enrolment projections indicate that over the next 10 years the district could see an increase of 2,000 students—and while it is anticipated our 47 schools can accommodate the increase of students, some schools will be challenged to meet the requests of both in-catchment and non-catchment students.

All input received will be used to guide recommendations for future student enrolment priorities. A summary of “What We Heard” outlining the process and input collected will be available to the public, the Committee and the Board’s review in May 2017.  Recommendations will be presented to the Board of Education on May 23, 2017.

The survey is available on our website
