Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, 7pm, Old Craigflower Schoolhouse, 2755 Admirals Rd.
For over twenty years, the citizens and the
politicians of the City of Victoria discussed and debated what to do about the
‘James Bay Flats’. These mudflats, located behind the Church of our Lord, were
an unsightly and smelly mess, causing concern to all who went by, either using
the old bridge or the roadway.
As the
nineteenth century drew to a close, they decided they would build a Causeway
and thus changed the course of the Inner Harbour and the City forever.

At 7:00,
on Monday, November 6, 2017, the Hallmark Heritage Society and Ken Johnson will
present the tale of Causeway in an illustrated lecture at the Old Craigflower
Schoolhouse, 2755 Admirals Road.
Admission
is free but donations are gladly accepted. Light refreshments shall be served.
Come
early for the best seats.
Take this
opportunity to join the Hallmark Heritage Society or to re-new your membership.
