Fundraising Korean dinner and cultural celebration on May 19

Jaerang Lee of the Kalmo Refugee Support Group writes:

This fundraiser is to help the Kalmo Refugee Support Group reunite a Somali refugee family. Through a private sponsorship arrangement and the support of the Anglican Diocese, the Kalmo Refugee Support Group is assisting Marwo Abdi, a Somali woman living in Victoria, to bring her family to Canada from a refugee camp in Uganda.

The event will also celebrate Korean cuisine and culture and provide an opportunity for people to socialize together, and learn more about refugee issues. It will include a buffet-style Korean dinner with various different dishes, traditional Korean music and dance, and silent auction. Food and performance descriptions are attached for your interest. It is open to anyone interested in Korean culture or who wants to contribute to the work of the Kalmo Refugee Support Group. Doors will open at 5:00and dinner will start at 5:45 PM.

We also have a children play area for families with young children.
