CBRA Chair Eric Dahli attended last night’s Saanich Council meeting, and reports:
- Humane Regional Deer Management Strategy-approved. Click here for a very interesting presentation made by Everett Peterson (Goward House’s woodland steward) on the link between deer and our difficulties in increasing the tree canopy.
- Tree Protection Interim options. Staff will prepare a 2020 budget submission to cover possible increased costs. ( there was a concern about more $$ being spent on administration)
- Variance permit approved for Galey Farms:“ Howard the Gnome” will stand up this fall. There was some opposition and a few emotional outbursts, As council member Colin Plant said, “We are only talking about a 16” variance”
