Food Truck Pilot in Cadboro-Gyro Park

Cadboro-Gyro Park will have two food trucks operating this summer through the Pilot Food Truck Program.

In their decision on April 26, 2021, Saanich Councillors recognized Cadboro-Gyro as a “natural gathering place, an exciting place,” and a good test case for the two month pilot that will run from July to Labour day.

Food Trucks will be permitted to set their own operating hours between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. Vehicles must leave site by 10 p.m. daily (no overnight parking). Trucks will be located near the washroom building, in the main parking lot. A map and additional information is provided in this April 7, 2021 notice from Saanich.

Food Truck Vendor Requirements:
  • Be self-sufficient for water and power;
  • Use generators that comply with the Noise Bylaw [PDF – 153 KB];
  • Collect and dispose of associated garbage, recycling and compost;
  • Provide standard licenses, insurance, and permits (including business licence, general liabilty insurance, park permit, fire safety inspection and requirement checklist).

CBRA will engage the community on its experience under the pilot, once it gets underway.
