Remove Invasive Species & Restore the Forest at UVic Queenswood Campus! Volunteer Opportunity – Saturday, November 19

This message was shared with the CBRA from the Greater Victoria Green Team:

The Greater Victoria Green Team would like to invite you and other community members to an upcoming volunteer opportunity at the UVic Queenswood Campus, near Cadboro Bay. This will be about the 7th time at Queenswood, and we have made a huge difference so far!

On Saturday, November 19 from 9:45 am—1:00 pm, we will be helping to restore habitat in the forest by removing invasive species like English ivy and daphne. Event RSVP and further details can be found on our Meetup group website at bit.ly/GVGTnov19

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. All ages and abilities are welcome. Instruction, gloves, tools and refreshments are provided.

This is a great opportunity for the community to spend time outside and meet new people! Participants will also get to experience the satisfaction of connecting with nature, improving the health and wellbeing of a local ecosystem, and improving their own health and wellbeing.

We would appreciate it if you could pass this event along to any others who may be interested in joining!

This activity was made possible through partnership with UVic Campus Planning & Sustainability and the charity Green Teams of Canada.

If you are interested in attending this event, you can sign-up and find further details on the GVGT’s Meetup page.
