Directors of the CBRA met with Eric Joyal of Saanich Planning recently regarding the proposed application at 2625 Arbutus Road, formerly Cadboro Bay United Church. Here are some updates to share:
- There will very likely be a public hearing.
- Rezoning is expected because there is no institutional component in the application.
- A study will be done to determine how the proposed development fits with Saanich’s Active Transportation Plan.

This is good to hear – thank you. Regarding rezoning, I’m a bit confused. It is talked about as “Institutional – mixed use” but it still shows as “P-1” so won’t it have to be rezoned? When & how did it become Institutional – mixed use?
