  1. I’m glad that the CBRA has written this letter in objection to disabling the Local Area Plans including Cadboro Bay’s.

However, there is a crucial error on the second page, which says regarding the Local Area Plans:

“Without a specific mechanism for their use, nor any binding status as they are no longer contained in the bylaws”

This statement is incorrect. The Local Area Plans are still in the OCP bylaw.

They haven’t made the final decision to remove them.

They are set to make that final decision on April 30, 2024. The public can still demand that the Cadboro Bay Local Area Plan be saved by keeping it in the OCP bylaw at the last public hearing on the new proposed Official Community Plan on that day.

The Residents Association should inform the public of this before the public hearing, if it is doing its due diligence to represent the interests of the residents of Cadboro Bay.

What could be a greater test of that, than whether or not the residents will be informed of the last public hearing for the new proposed OCP and of their last chance to save their Local Area Plan?
