I understand from a neighbour who attended the meeting that the United Church has done an about face on the cell tower question, following some pressure from a vocal minority in the community.
Can anyone tell me what the CBRA is doing, if anything, to support the installation of a suitable tower somewhere in the area?
A friend recently pointed out that the cell reception in the middle of the Serengeti desert is better than in CB. Hyped up and inaccurate rhetoric about unproven health risks is not a rational reason to reject what the rest of the world correctly sees as progress. Since I can get cell messages from the US in my bathroom, the area is clearly not safe for those who believe there are significant health risks anyway – if they believe what they say they should be moving (far) away.
Thanks
