In April to May 2014 the District of Saanich surveyed residents on the potential legalization of secondary suites North of McKenzie Avenue. The questions asked in the survey were identical to questions asked in the development of the Official Community Plan (2007) and the exploration of secondary suites south of McKenzie Avenue (2009).
Two types of surveys were used:
- A randomly selected, statistically significant telephone survey; and,
- A “Self Selector” survey which was available online and in paper form at open house events, recreation centres and Saanich Municipal Hall
In total, 410 telephone surveys and 386 paper/online (self-selector) surveys were completed. The resulted are displayed for each of the surveys below.
Please note that survey results in the random survey were “weighted” to ensure a demographically representative sample.
