Upcoming UVic presentations on new student housing

From Mike Wilson, Director, Campus Planning & Sustainability at University of Victoria:

As mentioned at the CALC meeting, we intend to submit a Development Variance Permit Application to the District of Saanich in mid-December for the Student Housing and Dining Project. We would appreciate the opportunity to provide an project update to the Cadboro Bay Residents’ Association Board at [its] meeting of November 14th. […]

The intent of the presentation is provide the Board with an update on the project including the proposed designs for each building.  The project team will explain the engagement process as well as the requested variances for increased building height and reduced vehicle parking that will be submitted to the District of Saanich as part of a Development Variance Permit Application. If the Board has specific areas of the designs they would like addressed in the presentation, please let me know and I will plan accordingly.  As mentioned in our meeting last week, I will also be able to provide an update on some of the proposed early works and temporary dining facilities that are being explored in an effort to deliver new student housing on campus sooner.

If there is broader interest from Cadboro Bay residents please invite them to our upcoming open houses where we will have members of the project team available to answer questions and discuss the project. These sessions will allow for more time to answer questions and an opportunity for us to record community feedback. Posters for these events are in the works and I will share them with you for the community notice board.
